We, Narda and Luc, have personally experienced how life-changing Ayurveda treatment can be. Our journey began when we traveled to India and underwent Ayurvedic therapies that profoundly improved our health and well-being. The results were so remarkable that it felt like a new chapter in our lives. Inspired by this transformative experience, we knew we wanted to share this gift with others.
However, traveling to India isn’t always possible for everyone. That’s why we decided to bring the wisdom and healing of Ayurveda to Spain, offering you the opportunity to experience these life-enhancing treatments without the need to travel to India.
When we acquired Torres de Selma and began transforming it into an eco-wellness resort, we realized this was the perfect opportunity to make our dream a reality. Through fate, we were fortunate to connect with incredible healers and therapists from India, including Guru Yogi Shivan, founder of the Indimasi Healing Village in Kerala. His kindness, wisdom, and experience have been a true source of inspiration in helping us bring this vision to life. Along with Guruji, we have also met other gifted Ayurvedic practitioners who will bring their expertise to our center. One of them will be the first to join us as a certified and experienced therapist from India, once the final permits and paperwork are completed.
We are thrilled to share with you the ancient knowledge of Ayurveda, and to help you experience its healing benefits right here at Torres de Selma.
Ayurveda, which originated in India over 5,000 years ago, is a natural system of medicine focused on preventive healthcare. The word “Ayurveda” comes from the Sanskrit words ayur (life) and veda (knowledge), meaning “the science of life.” Ayurveda is based on the idea that health is the result of harmony between body, mind, spirit, and the environment. When this balance is disrupted, disease and imbalance occur. Ayurvedic treatments aim to restore this equilibrium through personalized therapies, which often include lifestyle changes, herbal remedies, massage, yoga, and meditation.
The foundation of Ayurvedic medicine lies in the concepts of universal interconnectedness, the body’s constitution (prakriti), and life forces (doshas). Ayurvedic treatment often begins with an internal purification process, followed by a special diet, herbal remedies, massage therapy, and mind-body practices designed to detoxify the body and promote overall wellness. The goal is not only to treat symptoms, but also to enhance resilience, reduce stress, and bring harmony to every aspect of life.
In India, Ayurveda is recognized as a legitimate medical system, on par with Western medicine, traditional Chinese medicine, naturopathy, and homeopathy. It is widely used both as a standalone treatment and as a complementary therapy alongside conventional medical care. All of our Ayurvedic therapists at Torres de Selma are certified in the Indian system and have undergone extensive, state-recognized training.

At Torres de Selma, we offer four different Ayurveda treatment packages, each designed to address specific health needs and goals. These programs range in duration from 3 to 12 days, and to ensure that every guest receives personalized attention, we limit the number of participants in each program.
For those seeking the most comprehensive experience, we highly recommend our 12-day package. This will provide you with the full benefits of Ayurveda, allowing enough time for deep healing and transformation. For guests who have completed the 12-day program, our 3- or 5-day packages make excellent follow-up treatments to maintain your progress or refresh your wellness journey.
If you’re new to Ayurveda and unsure whether it’s the right choice for you, we invite you to join our Relaxation Weekend program. This short stay will give you a taste of Ayurvedic healing, allowing you to experience its gentle, restorative effects before committing to a longer treatment.
We look forward to welcoming you to Torres de Selma and offering you the opportunity to experience the ancient wisdom and profound healing of Ayurveda, right here in the heart of Spain.
Body Posture Correction is a highly effective treatment for the physical body. The therapist manually corrects posture through specific manipulations of the skeletal system. Pain caused by misalignments, such as vertebral misalignment, can be addressed and corrected.
Many guests experience immediate pain relief, improved flexibility and a renewed flow of energy throughout the body, resulting in a greater sense of vitality and wellbeing.
Together with the therapist, the number of sessions required to achieve the desired results will be determined.
According to Ayurveda, the body contains 108 marma points and approximately 27,000 channels of vital energy, known as nadis. The points where Prana (life force) flows from the nadis into the physical body are called marma points.
These points are located in muscles, tendons, joints and other tissues throughout the body.
When Prana flows freely through the marma points, health and vitality are supported. When this flow becomes restricted, symptoms such as fatigue, exhaustion, stress, reduced immunity, sleep disturbances and other imbalances may arise.
During the treatment, the therapist assesses the marma points and, when necessary, uses gentle touch to help release blockages, allowing energy to flow freely once again.
Panchakarma is the classical Ayurvedic cleansing and rejuvenation programme designed to remove accumulated toxins (Ama), restore balance to the doshas and support the body’s natural healing processes.
The word comes from Sanskrit:
Pancha = five
Karma = actions or therapies
Literally, Panchakarma means “five actions” or “five therapeutic procedures.”
In accordance with your personalised treatment plan, selected elements of Panchakarma may be incorporated into your programme to support your individual healing process.
Abhyanga is a traditional Ayurvedic full-body massage using carefully selected medicinal oils tailored to your constitution and current imbalances.
Shirodhara is a deeply relaxing Ayurvedic therapy that helps calm the nervous system and reduce physical and mental stress. A continuous stream of warm oil or herbal preparation is gently poured over the forehead while the body relaxes into a profound state of tranquillity.
Herbal Kizhi uses warm herbal poultices filled with medicinal herbs and heated in herbal oils throughout the treatment. This therapy is traditionally used to support conditions affecting the musculoskeletal and neuromuscular systems and may help relieve pain, stiffness and tension.
A herbal steam bath is a simple yet effective Ayurvedic therapy used to support the elimination of toxins through perspiration. The treatment is usually performed after a massage and helps open the channels, improve circulation and enhance relaxation.
The ancient science of Ayurveda is based on the five elements: Ether, Air, Fire, Water and Earth.
These elements combine to form the three doshas, or constitutional types: Vata, Pitta and Kapha.
Each dosha has specific qualities that influence our physical, emotional and mental characteristics.
All of us contain aspects of all three doshas, although one or two usually predominate.
During your stay, the therapist will help identify your dominant dosha and any current imbalances.
Balance is the key. When the doshas are in harmony, we experience wellbeing, vitality and inner peace. When they become imbalanced, symptoms such as stress, digestive discomfort, emotional instability and reduced energy may occur.
Throughout your retreat, you will learn how to support balance through nutrition, yoga, meditation and personalised Ayurvedic treatments.
Pooja is a traditional Hindu ceremony.
In India, Pooja is performed as a loving offering of light, flowers, water and food to the Gods and Goddesses, inviting their blessings throughout life’s journey.
At the end of your retreat, we offer a Pooja ceremony as a meaningful closing ritual.
This beautiful ceremony supports the integration of your experiences, honours your personal journey and offers blessings for the path ahead.

The main aim of this programme is to correct problems related to posture. Examples include pain in the neck and shoulders, such as frozen shoulder, or pain in the lower back. Many people suffer from these kinds of problems due to sedentary work at a desk and behind a computer or using mobile phones. Other examples are problems in the knees, thumbs or hips.
The correction of posture aligns the body structures and therefore closer to their original positions, improving the physical function of the body and reducing pain.
The treatments are performed by a therapist who is specialised and highly experienced in this.
On a physical level, in addition to postural corrections, this 12-day programme hydrates, reduces inflammation, improves hormonal balance and relieves pain. It revitalises organs, balances the doshas and digestion, cleanses by removing toxins and relaxes muscles. It also has beneficial effects on the mind and soul.
Day 1 (a Wednesday): Arrive between 3pm and 4pm.
After reception and a short tour to get to know the Masía, you will meet with the therapist to discuss your individual treatment plan.

Days 2-6 are reserved for body posture correction treatment and marma therapy. There are also several ceremonies with pooja, yoga, pranayama, elements of panchakarma, massages, herbal therapy, meditation and three hot meals daily for your type of dosha in the restaurant.
In most cases, five posture correction treatments will be enough to achieve the desired posture. Guests who need more of this treatment will also receive posture correction treatment on day 6 and if necessary on day 7.
On days 7-11, the focus is on Ayurvedic massages to integrate the posture corrections into the body system at a deeper level. In addition, there is a continuation of daily pooja, yoga, pranayama, elements of panchakarma, herbal therapy, meditation and, of course, the three Ayurvedic meals.
Day 12, a Sunday, includes pooja, yoga, pranayama, meditation and an Ayurvedic breakfast followed by guest departure (no later than 10 a.m.).
During this programme, there is ample time to relax and enjoy the silence of the beautiful nature around us.
