9-day Intensive Yoga & Ayurveda retreat
9 Days to Deepen Your Practice, Expand Your Knowledge & Reconnect Within
Yoga is much more than a physical practice. It is a philosophy, a way of living and a path towards greater awareness of body, breath and mind.
The 9-Day Intensive Yoga & Ayurveda Retreat at Torres de Selma is designed for those who want to go beyond the regular yoga class and immerse themselves in a deeper experience of yoga. Daily practices are combined with in-depth teachings, workshops, pranayama and meditation, while personalised Ayurvedic treatments support the body throughout this intensive journey.
This is not a yoga teacher training and it is not about achieving the perfect posture. It is about understanding your practice more deeply and discovering how yoga can become part of the way you live.
A Deeper Exploration of Yoga
Each day combines practice and learning. Longer asana sessions are complemented by workshops and teachings exploring alignment, pranayama, meditation, yoga philosophy, the subtle body, chakras, bandhas and mudras.
Some practices are dynamic and challenging, while others focus on restoration, stillness and awareness. There is time for questions, reflection and, importantly, enough space between sessions to rest and allow the teachings to settle.
Supported by Ayurveda
An intensive yoga practice asks something from the body. Ayurveda therefore plays an important supporting role throughout your stay.
Your retreat includes a consultation with our Ayurvedic Doctor and personalised treatments selected according to your constitution and needs. Treatments such as Abhyanga, Marma Therapy and herbal oil therapies may support muscular recovery, flexibility and relaxation while helping the nervous system remain balanced.
Fresh Ayurvedic meals at Nalú provide the nourishment and energy needed for your practice without unnecessarily weighing down the body.
Your 9-Day Programme
Day 1 – Arrive & Land
Arrive between 15:00 and 16:00 and settle into your room. An introduction to the retreat is followed by gentle yoga, pranayama and meditation and your first Ayurvedic dinner at Nalú.
Days 2–3 – Foundations & Awareness
Morning meditation, pranayama and longer asana practices establish the rhythm of the retreat. Your Ayurvedic consultation determines the treatments and support for your stay. Workshops explore alignment, conscious movement, anatomy and the foundations and philosophy of yoga.
Days 4–8 – Deepen Your Practice
These days form the heart of the retreat. Daily intensive yoga practices are combined with workshops and teachings on pranayama, meditation, philosophy, alignment, chakras, nadis, bandhas and mudras. Ayurvedic treatments support recovery and balance, while restorative practices and free time in nature create space for integration. Towards the end of the retreat, the focus shifts to bringing everything you have learned together and developing a meaningful personal practice.
Day 9 – Your Practice Continues
Your final morning begins with meditation, pranayama and yoga, followed by breakfast. We close the retreat with reflection and practical guidance to help you continue your practice at home.
Who Is This Retreat For?
This retreat is for those who already have some experience with yoga and would like to deepen their practice and understanding. You do not need to be highly flexible or able to perform advanced postures, but you should feel comfortable with regular daily physical practice.
It is particularly suited to those who want to explore yoga beyond asana and dedicate uninterrupted time to practice, learning and self-reflection.
